Carbon markets are often reliant on data obtained manually during the very early phases of a project and every few years after that, making it difficult to know with precision how much carbon emissions have in fact been removed or avoided at a given point in time. Carbon credits also often appear as abstract concepts for final users who are not sure of how their funds are having an impact on the ground.

Real time verification of our impact
We are deploying in our marketplace a remote monitoring system to compute forest analytics closer to real-time. The monitoring system uses satellite images and radar data as inputs and leverage state-of-the-art deep learning models to infer the quality of the forests and the carbon stocks in that area. It also helps ensure traceability for final users to visualize the impact of their contributions on the ground.
Increased transparency through an innovative model
Our afforestation projects are computed in surface area rather than in carbon credits. Clients can then acquire a given amount (a share of the project or even the whole project) measured in hectares or square meters, which gives its owner the corresponding carbon sequestration rights over the project’s life -typically 30, 40 or 50 years. Forests can be further divided in Forest Shares that are publicly available for individuals from our Community forests. Companies can also assign forest shares (and the corresponding carbon rights) from their Shared Forest or Corporate Forests directly to their employees or customers to create their own digital community around the projects they support.
